Assoc. prof. dr. Nikolas Sklavos

Associate Professor at University of Patras

Nicolas Sklavos is an Associate Professor, with the Computer Engineering & Informatics Department,
Polytechnic School, University of Patras, Hellas (Greece). He is also a Senior Researcher at the Computer Technology Institute and Press “Diophantus”, Hellas (Greece). He received his Ph.D. in Electrical & Computer Engineering, and the Diploma in Electrical & Computer Engineering, in 2004 and in 2000 respectively, both from the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department, Polytechnic School, University of Patras, Hellas (Greece).
He is the Director of SCYTALE Group. His research interests include Cryptography Engineering, Digital Systems Design, Computers & Networks Security, Embedded Systems, IoT. He has participated to a great number of European and National projects, with both research & management activities, funding by the European Commission or/and National resources. He acts also as reviewer and evaluator for both European Commission Project Calls, and National Project Calls of several countries.
He holds an award for his PhD thesis on “VLSI Designs of Wireless Communications Security
Systems”, from IFIP VLSI SOC, Germany, 2003. He has been awarded with post-doctoral research
scholarship, from the National Scholarship Foundation. He has been awarded as Top Associated Editor
for 2010 and 2011, from Computers & Electrical Engineering Journal, Elsevier.
N. Sklavos has authored/co-authored up to 250 scientific articles, published in journals, conferences,
both books, books chapters, tutorials and technical reports, in the areas of his research. He has been
invited as keynote speaker to several international conferences, workshops, summer schools etc. Until nowadays, the results of his research, have received up to 2300 citations, in the scientific and
technical literature.
